this program is how you use your favorite foods instead of being
controlled by them. Your favorite foods have a psychological pick-me-up
which can actually be measured in your brain. I call it the
perk
you get when you eat something special. Eating, identifying and using
these perk foods is the secret ingredient of the Palmer Weight Program.
But I eat bad food, never exercise and I don't like anything that's
good for me.
That's OK, and that is where many of my clients are starting from.
You might have already learned that switching to diet foods and changing
when you eat, only works for a short time. You always come back home
eventually, so that is where this program begins. It starts with foods
you already eat and shows you how to manipulate your old favorites. This
opens the door to adding lower calorie, healthier foods as you go along.
You already know what you are suppose to eat, this lets you introduce
those foods to your eating style, slowly and comfortably.

What about exercise? Can you make me exercise?
Exercise even becomes a natural part of achieving your goal for most
of my clients but not because you were told to exercise but because it
feels like the right thing to do. You are using your minds natural
ability to guide you in a positive direction toward the size and shape
you want to become. Eventually you begin to eat and exercise the way you
need to in order to reach your goal.

It's not voodoo. it's using hypnosis in the way it has been used

But I have used hypnosis before and it didn't work.
I know, and here is why. Every application of hypnosis I am aware of
has tried to use hypnosis to try and make dieting work. That's what the client
asked for. Aversion is another example of what they tried to force
hypnosis to accomplish. You know, make you hate chocolate cake and love
spinach and green peas. Nothing is going to make that happen. What you
like to eat isn't going to change under any circumstances. Nothing is
going to make diets work, including hypnosis.
Why is dieting a dirty word?
I don't want to take any more space than necessary to remind
you that study after study in the past forty years has pointed to a
better than 90% failure rate in some of the best diets, designed by the
most knowledgeable people in the field of nutrition. We wouldn't do
anything else that failed 90% of the time yet we still search for the
perfect diet. Dieting is temporary, unnatural, sometimes unhealthy and
usually uncomfortable. Is it any wonder people hate to diet and can't
wait to get off of them.
Diets make me goofy!
Yes, they do. I'm sure you noticed that your personality
changes while dieting. The more restrictive the diet the faster you turn
into a basket case, right?
THE REASON: All the
foods you love have a psychological value (the perk, remember?) attached
to them. Candy is reward, cake is celebration and so on. Take away these
psychological perks that you get from your favorite foods and you take
away a good portion of what keeps you on a even keel and makes you a
happy camper.
